Awards and Funding - Scope Wins Worksafe Award

Scope has won a prestigious WorkSafe Victoria award in the Category of 'Best Solution for Sprain and Strain Injuries'.
The Worksafe Victoria Awards are Australia's premier workplace health and safety recognition scheme.
The award is presented for innovation or invention in workplace health and safety that eliminates or significantly reduces the risk of sprain or strain injuries.
Scope's submission for the award was based on the injury preventative controls implemented under the Transport Strategy program.
The program involved the design of a client transport vehicle with new features, eliminating the need for clients to modify their wheelchairs for travel and to lessen the risk of injury to drivers and support workers who are responsible for securing wheelchairs in those vehicles.
Scope was in competition with over 160 entries from an open field in the aluminium, steel and building industries.
"Congratulations to everyone involved in making this idea a reality and improving safety for people who undertake manual handling," said Diana Heggie, Chief Executive Officer of Scope.
